The old town of Rosignano Marittimo

Rosignano Marittimo is the old hill town that gives the whole municipality its name: five kilometres from the sea, with a tower, a church and stone houses packed along two streets.

Palazzo Bombardieri houses the archaeological museum, with the Etruscan and Roman material found in the area: the coastal villa at Castiglioncello, the necropolises, the grave goods. It is a small, well-kept museum, and it explains why this coast is called what it is called.

From the belvedere at the top of the village you see the hills, the plain and the sea at once. An hour is enough for the town, two if you go into the museum.
